Ugh for week 3

So, i'm in the middle of week 3, and I feel I should be done now. Yesterday we practiced the entire back, wich means we had to be topless. Yup, I was topless in class...scandelous! Now, i know some people would never be comfortable in 100 years to be semi-naked in a room full of 25 people. I must say that it isn't very scarey. Despite the fact 25 other people are in the room, everyone is covered, no one is making nudey jokes, all in all very professional. After my first time of being half naked, I highly recommend massages where you are NAKED! The massage goes so much deeper, and the relaxation that follows is times ten than if you got one through clothes. Now for the question, is it right for a Christian woman to be naked around other people, even men? I say it comes down to where your heart is. I wasn't trying to seduce my male classmates, and i was always covered. We are there for professional reasons, to learn a skill for our future careers. nuff said! God bless ya'll!

Week 1

I have survived my first week of the second term of the Massage Therapy program here at COCC. I am convince now that many of my classmates are on the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to world views. Wich is no suprise, it is a practice developed in the Orient. I have to laugh when I hear massage Therapy called "Alternative Medicine". I hadn't thought of what I want to do a form of medicine, but I suppose it is. Dr. Oz (Oprah's doctor) had a show on this week talking about alternative medicine practices that have been around for centuries. Raiki made his list. For Those of you who don't know what Raiki is it is a form of energy work. To help us feeble minded, Dr. Oz described energy work as such: looking at a cell you can see a membrane that surrounds it. This membrane keeps the life of the cell in and the rest of the world out. Think of your energy field as like that. Keeping our life force in and the world out. How as a Christian are we to take this? Hundreds of people have received energy work, and can attest to its effectivness. I say don't deny it. As Christians we know that the body has an eternal soul. Let's not get our "Western" minds set on thinking in only a physical aspect. There is a spiritual side to life, why else would God save us? He knew that our souls needed care. I'm not saying go out and get Raiki done, but also don't look down on those who do. It isn't black magic being practiced. It is a being tuned into your soul, and if you're a Christian....that would mean being tuned in with the Holy Spirit.
There's my 2 cents.
